Dealing with Disappointment

I know life can't always be happy and honky dory. I know that things don't always work out how we want them to and I even know that not everyone is happy ever day of their life but somehow I don't know how to deal with disappointment. Early this  year I got a really great offer for something that I wanted to do and then today I found out that now I'm not going to get what I was promised and the terms and conditions of the original offer have drastically changed.

I'm waiting on my husband to come home to get his input into the whole thing and I even emailed my best friend who is living in London at the moment to get her advice but at the end of the day I still can't get this feeling of disappointment to vanish. At times like this I feel to eat a nice slice of chocolate cake or a sinful piece of cheesecake with a glass of delicious Coca-Cola....... and I don't mean Coca-Cola Zero which I am forcing myself to drink (it actually taste good though) as my attempt to not put on the extra calories that is found in just about any and everything on the face of this earth!

So how do you guys deal with disappointment? I think maybe it's time for me to come up with a life plan or something! I am so unsure as to what my future holds! My husband job does not allow for any future plans.. be it in one week time or one  year or even five years time! For instance, if we plan a trip.... without any notice and up to the morning when we have to leave for our flight.. there is always the possibility of his company changing our plans! So how are we supposed to plan our future when we don't even know how long we will be here in Brazil or where next we will be? Ooooohh I know I'm taking out my frustrations on my blog but isn't that one of the great things about blogging? Getting to rant and rave about what's on my mind?

Okay so hope you guys are having a better day than I am having.

Happy Mother's Day!

I know I am very late in writing this and this should have been done last night or first thing this morning but I was having such a wonderful rainy Sunday cuddling up with my hubby and watching romantic movies that I neglected to come online and wish all the great mothers out there a Happy Mother's Day!

I hope all of you guys who are lucky to be with their moms on this special day did something (be it a small or grand gesture) to show your mom that you love her. I know not everyone in the world has a good relationship with their moms, some might not even know their moms but remember a mother is not only the person who gave birth to you but someone who played a big part in your upbringing. I know I have lots of aunts who took part in my upbringing and actually the person who played the biggest role in bringing me up was my Uncle ... so I guess you could say he played both a mother and a father role! So Happy Mother's Day to my dear uncle as well who's not answering his phone at them moment :-)

Okay guys back to my lazy wonderful Sunday!

Have a great week this week.

Brazil!!!

Okay guys,

Good morning!! I returned last night after one month of being on vacation (yeah I know - a housewife on vacation - you better believe it!). So on my one month away I did not really do any blogging, webanswers or even assignments for my TESOL course! I know ... I know... what a slacker. Well my first priority today is to actually get this apartment back to a livable state which means I already have a load of clothes washing and now I have to start cleaning.. oh happy day! I wish I knew someone around here who I could hire at least just for today. I much rather unpack my suitcase and see what goodies I bought on my trip but such is life. Also we have to stock up our bare kitchen... so that means grocery shopping.

Well I hope to get back to blogging soon now that I am once more by myself in Brazil. I just need to sort through the 531 emails in my inbox and then I will take it from there. Have a great day today guys.. and drop me a line sometime.

I need to start back blogging and my thoughts on VOTING for the next Prime Minister

Hey World,

How are you guys today? I know it's been a while since my last blog but now that I am not home all day I am neglecting my blog and that's bad. Today I am heading to the mall to do a little shopping.. I sincerely hope that I get good deals.. but I wish I had company. I like to browse in a store by myself but I like the company for walking around the mall etc.

Anyways these days I don't seem inspired to blog. I just need to get my thoughts in order and then I'll get back on tract. I've been neglecting webanswers since April 2nd but it's been quite a profitable month from Webanswers for me in April.. that's great - no work and still earning! I love it! However, google needs to hurry up and send me my PIN cause I'm getting a little panicked at this point.

Before I came here I had a list of things in my mind that I absolutely wanted and now I am drawing a blank! Dammit .... I should have been writing this down since I was still in Brazil. Oh well ... we'll see!

So hope all is well with you guys all over the place. I'm sorry I don't have anything much of substance to talk about but when I get back I'll blog about VOTING and I hope all the Trinis out there are going to VOTE in this upcoming elections. Today is the LAST DAY TO REGISTER so please people - do not take the day off to go and 'register' and end up going to Maracas Beach instead!! Get your butts in the EBC and register to vote... and I must say I am a little disappointed to know that I have friends who are over 25 who have never voted, aren't registered or aren't even interested in voting. Such nonsense!!!! These people can't afford to complain about anything being bad with the country if they don't do their part to encourage and implement change!

Okay more on this later....

Sorry! I'm busy! On vacation....

Hey guys,

I know it is terrible.. I haven't blogged about anything in a while. Well right now I am on vacation and I am spending my time visiting family and soon I'll start visiting my friends. Trish... thanks for following me on Twitter :-) I can't wait to see you and for us to catch up!

Well anyways so I am not at home all day now online ... I'm actually busy :-) Well not so much but my internet action is much much less than normal.. but don't worry .. soon I'll be here all the time again.. that's life!

Well folks, hope you guys have a wonderful week and maybe I'll stop by and share some of my life moments depending on if I do anything exciting :-) I did go to a wedding this weekend ... when I arrived - only had time to bathe and change and went straight to the reception where I made sure and had lots of champayne, cake and food :-) It was great!!! Since then things have been relatively calm ...

Take care,
Luv Lee

I'm very sad

Whilst we were dating my husband (boyfriend at the time) went through several periods when we had to be apart, like when he was doing his masters or when he had to travel for work. These periods spanned from 7 months to sometimes two months or two weeks. We handled these periods apart pretty good. We made sure and spoke everyday even though sometimes it was really expensive. I know now there's Skype etc but sometimes we only get to talk on the go not when one was home at the available time etc.

Now we are going to be apart for an entire month and I am not dealing with this very well... actually neither is he... we are both sad right now because I leave tomorrow and he leaves the next day. I must say I am also not looking forward to that long a** flight as well as the four hour road trip to get to the airport. Yay me :-(

I guess maybe it's because now we are married and where we are it's really just the two of us and a few really great friends. But most of the time it's just us ... no family around and none of our friends from forever. Just the new ones we made since we moved here. Anyways so I guess since we've spent the last year alone together we've grown even more attached to each other which I know is a good thing for a married couple but now at times like this it's hard. I don't want to leave him ... I can't go with him ... ooh I hate this situation.

I don't like being sad. I'm a smiley, happy person.. sad doesn't look good on me! :-(

We'll let me get off here and go spend these last precious hours with my hubby (he's cooking whilst I'm blogging!). I like the Mickey & Minnie photo.

Love you hun.

Our One Year Wedding Anniversary!

Today, March 29th 2010, makes it one year since my husband and I got married and also this month makes it seven (7) years since we started dating. The past seven years have been really wonderful filled with love, lots of travelling, fun and laughter. Good times with friends and family!

Okay so back to our one year wedding anniversary. This weekend we went shopping and I got great presents. I started working on our wedding anniversary video on Friday and spent time on it over the weekend but I'm not finished. I will try and complete it today. These things take time especially when I want it to come out perfect but at this point I'll settle for great not fantabulous! To the left is the marrow that we got married under for our Indian wedding - Hindu rights. Isn't it gorgeous? I loved it! Picked out the materials myself but had a great bunch of guys working on it .. they did a great job! Well worth it.

I want to thank everyone who made our day special one year ago. A lot of work went into having a wedding by the beach on a coconut estate. Also present was a lot of rain but now I just look at it as God's Blessings... lots of blessings!

Okay the point of me writing this blog today is to celebrate our one year together not the wedding but I am looking at some of our wedding pictures and I am getting sidetracked.

We had a great honeymoon in Switzerland. It really is a beautiful place to visit and I loved relaxing up in the mountains. After one month of marriage we had to relocate to Brazil and the adventure began! Living alone I had to learn to cook – thank goodness my mother-in-law gave me a cookbook as a present. I had my good times... and not so good times when the meal was just barely edible but I have a great husband! I also had to learn to clean.. the worst part – I don’t like cleaning but living by the beach – SEABLAST which I’ve blogged about already – has me cleaning more times than I am guessing is normally necessary. I’ve got the cleaning and washing down as well. So the housewife duties are good to go. Over the past year we’ve made great friends here in Brazil who I am happy we had the opportunity to meet! We celebrated our birthdays here and I am happy we had people to share in our fun... we’ve also gotten darker in this sun. Had to mention that! We’ve had many beach trips and started exercising. I especially like the fact that we got bicycles and go riding together.

Now I know this is not my best blog post but right now I am distracted because I keep thinking about the video I want to finish so I guess I should go now - I'll just say thank you to my wonderful husband for all the hugs I get on a daily basis, for the good times and for the not so good times as well (like when you leave lot's of pepper spoons lying around on the kitchen counter!). Thank you for always making me laugh and forever trying to please me and make me happy. Thank you for the little adventures now and then and for being willing to try new things - like painting and riding bikes. For the many bus ride adventures which only people who have been on a bus in Brazil will understand! I could go on listing the many things I want to say thank you for but I'll just sum it up and say THANK YOU FOR THE LITTLE THINGS.. those are the things that count the most! Happy one year anniversary hun.

Love you.

It's Friday People!

I know all you hard working people out there are usually so excited about it being Friday because the weekend is right around the corner. So why is a person who's at home all week excited about it being Friday? Well let me tell you - I get my hubby home for the weekend and this weekend we are going shopping! Yippie! I tend to get so excited to go shopping for clothes - I have to get a dress to wear to a wedding - but when I get to the mall and start trying on a million things I usually lose all the excitement. To me trying on clothes in the mall is just a way of reminding me I'm just to fat! Most times I see parts of my body I didn't know existed .. like that little bit of extra belly/tummy here and there! Gosh help me!

If I ever find a bottle with a genie in it for sure that will be my first wish - to be the perfect size (whatever the heck that is) and to never be able to get fat again! Losing the weight is such a pain in the ass. And to all of you out there who keep telling me time to have babies.. did you ever think about if I get pregnant now how much bigger I will get and let's face it with my tract record of losing weight (-2 pounds ever so often) can you imagine after I give birth! My goodness! Oooh!

Anyways so tomorrow I'm going shopping and on Monday is our ONE YEAR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY! Yay we made it a year.. take that Britney Spears with your sexy body! Sadly after that we will be apart for a month but that's part of this life and I've learnt to make it work. So now I am going to spend some time working on our wedding anniversary video. I love doing these video things. I did one for my uncle to celebrate his life for his 70th Birthday and it came out really really good (Seriously!) but I spent more than one month editing it and tweaking it and making it perfect. Now I don't have that much time.. dammit why did I only think about doing this now.. 3 days before our anniversary? Good going Leandra!

Anyways let me get back to tidying up and then on to the good stuff. Have a great Friday people, don't drink too much today on your after work limes and have a wicked weekend!

Visit Copacabana Beach Brazil!

Thinking of visiting Brazil? Want to do the tourist stuff and see what's popular? Then you should definitely visit Copacabana Beach Brazil. The Copacabana area is so much more than just beach. The area is really beautiful and there is lots to see and do. Located in the south zone of Rio de Janeiro (also called the "Zona Sul"), Copacabana is a definite must see place.

Like I said, there's lots to see and do in Copacabana such as:

  • Take a stroll along the wavy pavement ("calçadão" ) with it's famous Portuguese pattern
  • Sun tan on the beach all day - if you can find a good spot and make sure to observe Brazilian life.
  • Walk along Avenida Atlantico (you will see lots of little beach bars and cariocas drinking beers and even dancing the samba!)
  • Go roller skating, jogging or ride a bicycle along Avenida Atlantico
  • You can take part in beach activities like play beach football or volleyball.
  • Why not have lunch in one of the restaurants under tents on the sidewalk or inside .. I prefer outside! So much to see! Like the beautiful women in their tiny bikinis
  • Shopping in the tourist markets - we got a lovely bowl here.
  • Make sure and check out the beautiful sand sculptures.
  • If you go for Old Year's Night you are in for a treat - there are millions of people there celebrating and enjoying a spectacular fireworks show!
Read more about it and see lovely photos of Copacabana, Brazil

Okay guys have a great day!

2010 FIFA World Cup

Hello World,

I am sorry I have not had the time to blog this week. I know you are probably saying to yourself, "What you mean you don't have time - you don't work!" Well you are wrong! This earning money online business is time consuming! Also I have my TESOL course and my last assignment was really hard - I'm serious! Today I've been reading things that I kept putting off for so long. Right now I am thinking of doing a movie with pictures of my husband and me and our friends, showing our relationship over the last 7 years as a token of our one year wedding anniversary in a few days. I'm still thinking about it and spent some time sorting through the millions of photos I have on my computer from 2003 to now but it takes time and I don't know if I should forget about it or spend the time and just do it. What do you think?

Anyways so last week a friend of mine shared a video on facebook of Akon's song "Oh Africa" and I ended up really liking it and listening to it all of Friday, then on the weekend and to be honest all this week as well. I like it - it's upbeat and makes you want to play football! The 2010 FIFA World Cup is going to be soon in South Africa from the 11th June to the 11th July. I remember when the Soca Warriors made it to the World Cup last time it was hosted. Boy our country was in a festive mood for the entire time even though we did not make it to far - ah heck at least we made it to the World Cup! We celebrated when the Soca Warriors (from Trinidad & Tobago) drew one of the matches. We reacted like we won the whole damn World Cup. Unfortunately T&T is not in the World Cup this year so I decided to back Brazil since I am living in the people's country! I know my husband will choose to back another team - for the competition! It's fun!

Well if you want to hear Akon's song and see Pepsi's cool ad for the upcoming 2010 World Cup you can check it out here. You will also see the video for K'naan song which is also cool! His own is used by Coca Cola! Go figure! They have their own little competition going on as usual.

Well folks, I hope you enjoy it and also I would love if someone sent me another song for me to obsess over so that I can get Akon out of my head. Before I go, let me share this - my younger brother found that the Pepsi ad was lame because he was expecting to see good football footwork / moves. Nevertheless I enjoyed it! Very creative!

K back to reading!
Have a great evening.
