What do Housewives do?

Okay so I decided to write a hub for hubpages on Housewife - What do housewives do? to help answer those out there who are wondering - what do you do all day? Aren't you bored? Besides cooking.. what else do you do? Well take a read of my article and you'd get a pretty good idea of what I am doing with my life at the moment :-)

Also, I have friend who (I won't call names) is also a housewife and we are in constant communication and let me just say - she deserves some kind of HOUSEWIFE award or something! She has two boys and I think she is a super mom! Besides doing the normal cooking, cleaning and washing on a daily basis - she also has to coordinate her two boys activities and boy are these boys active! Swimming, cricket and many other activities has the housewife/mother running around all day long. I admire her! And she does it all with a smile and is rightfully proud of her kiddies. You know who you are :-)

K I'm off to bed now. It's very late. Have a good night and I hope you enjoy my article.
Leave comments.. I like to read them :-)

Bless the Broken Road - Rascal Flatts

This is a song I absolutely love. You can see the video along with other romantic songs.. if you are in a bad mood, try listening to some of these. They will help put you in a good mood. Bless the Broken Road and other romantic songs

Here are the words courtesy of artists.letssingit.

I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you

Chorus:
Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

I think about the years I spent just passing through
I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You've been there you understand
It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true

Chorus:
Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

Now I'm just rollin' home into my lover's arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road that led me straight to you
Sing out loud.. It's good for you!! :-)

I'm bad at time management!

I got up this morning with so many plans running through my mind... so many things I have to get done today! And look at the time - its 2:15pm and I don't think I accomplished more than 2 of the many tasks that were swimming around in my head waiting to be accomplished! To tell you how late I am these days.. I am now going to post our most recent attempt at Art once more! But before I get there.. let me promise that I will be writing on Rio Carnaval with photos and videos too .. but give me some time k? It doesn't help that I have a hubby.. who - once he's at home - requires my undivided attention!! :-) So in that time - no blogging, webanswers or hubpages for me!!! Only the chance to check my email here and there and PEEK at facebook!!

Now let me share what's going on upstairs.. things I have to do! About 3 weeks ago I joined a website for free - www.sparkpeople.com that is supposed to help me lose weight etc by making available a vast amount of resources all for free! Well in my usual procrastinating way - I signed up, did not finish completing my profile, and started getting emails after emails which useful information - but did I read any? NOPE! Instead, whilst I am continuing to gain weight.. yes people.. I love food, I am simply labeling the email as Sparkpeople in gmail and then marking as read! So today.. I plan to revisit all these emails and start reading from the beginning! Don't worry.. if I come across stuff that's really great - I'll share it with you. Okay so that should take up a good few hours of my day today. Also, I have to try and write a hub soon for hubpages, and spend at least one hour on webanswers. Oh and more importantly I have two units to read and two assignments to do for my TESOL course and I need to put in some learning Portuguese time in there! So many things.. so little time.. oh and since I am a housewife after all - I have to make something for dinner and do the usual washing, cooking and cleaning in between! See .. my time management is horrible! HELP!! :-) I welcome any suggestions.. maybe you can help me plan my days!! I don't mind.....

Right, now back on track. These are photos of the paintings we did last week. I did the one with the flowers and my hubby did the one with the man fishing... He tried to show the sea, waves, rocks, sand and boardwalk but ended up rushing so it did not come out like originally planned!

As you can see - I think my turned out better  this time unlike my previous disastrous attempt :-) I think! Please take notice of the blue sunga (what we call a Speedo) that the Brazilian man is wearing whilst fishing - this is very common here in Brazil! Hope these made you smile :-)

Till my next post,
Have a wonderful day!

I'm back!

Okay so it's been a while since my last blog posting. I went to Rio for 'Carnaval' and came back on Tuesday but I am only now getting time to read my emails and attend to my 'online addictions' ... so hopefully some time today I will get to write about my Rio Carnaval experience and post some pictures too... but let me just leave you with this - Trinidad & Tobago Carnival is the BEST :-) Just my opinion.. Also notice it's spelled differently.. that's not me making a typo mistake! K so see you guys later.. Have a great Thursday!

Valentines Day - Romantic Songs and Gift Ideas!

Okay guys so Valentines Day is fast approaching and I decided to share some songs that I find are very romantic. Check out Top 10 Romantic Songs for Valentines and please do enjoy. I included links to the youtube videos for your viewing and listening pleasure as well as links to the lyrics so you can sing along :-) Come on now.. don't do like you don't sing along to songs you listen to! We all do it.. even though some of us (yes me!) can't carry a tune for anything! Oh well.. what can you do?

So guys, enjoy your valentines day 2010 and may I suggest - this year .. instead of buying a card for your loved one.. why not make your own via digital scrapbooking? I'm just saying! It's an option. Also, if you still don't know what to get your Valentines, here are 10 Valentine's Day Gift Ideas which are affordable and for just about anyone in your life.

Okay I gotta go get to my English course or else the hubby is going to be like "You slacker! You now start and already you distracted" Oops my bad :-)

I'm a Busy bee today.. but check out this recipe and cleaning tip!

Hey Guys,

I am writing just to say thank you for visiting my blog today! I am very busy right now so I don't have the time to write something really good but I will work on something this week and try and post it. For sure next week my blogging time will be dedicated to RIO CARNIVAL! Maybe .. okay definitely .. I'll include some pictures for your viewing pleasure!

But today I have plenty stuff to read from my computer - I have a ton of emails to read from a website I joined to help me lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle (Spark People which is a 100% free program) and gosh.. I made the mistake of signing up for their newsletter updates and now I have tons of emails to read - but they all seem so important that I could not delete them! Also, I went crazy this morning downloading a set of free ebooks on stuff I am interested in at the moment - writing articles ... so I got a lot of How to's ebooks and that means more reading for me!! Not to mention that now I have to cook lunch everyday this week .. in time for 12noon so my mornings are pretty much spoken for!

In the mean time..check this link if you are in the mood to cook a good pot of Seafood Paella!

Also, I will like to share with you an article I came across.. its for you fellow housewives or anyone who is responsible for cleaning the house! Frugal Cleaning Tips.

Uuumm.. let's see .. yep I think thats about it. If I come across anything interesting in my readings today I'll let you know. Ooh how my Portuguese learning is once more suffering..due to my dot come obsession now!!!

Have a great day!

Finding Your Tribe Your Allies On Life’s Journey - From DailyOM

Hey guys,
I hope you read my posting yesterday about my week. It will help clear you the questions some of you have about "what do you do all day?" and "don't you get bored being home?"!!!

Today I will like to share this DailyOM tidbit on Finding Your Tribe!

Finding Your Tribe
Your Allies On Life’s Journey

Part of being human is the search for an individual identity. Bound to this strong need to establish a unique persona, however, is an equally intense desire for acceptance. It is when we find our individual tribes that both are satisfied. Our tribe members are those people who accept us as we are without reservation and gladly accompany us on our journeys of evolution. Among them, we feel free to be our imperfect selves, to engage unabashedly in the activities we enjoy, and to express our vulnerabilities by relying on our tribe for support. We feel comfortable investing our time and energy in the members of our tribe, and are equally comfortable allowing them to invest their resources in our development.

The individuals who eventually become members of your unique tribe are out there in the wide world waiting for you. You are destined to find them, one by one, as you move through life. Sometimes your own efforts will put you in contact with your future tribe members. At other times, circumstances beyond your control will play a role in helping you connect with your tribe.

If you like how this is going ... you can read the rest on the DailyOM website. This link is specifically for this article though..

Go out there today and Find your tribe :-)

The first week in February! UUuuuuhhhhh

Okay, so it's Saturday and I'm online blogging.. there could only be one reason for this: yep.. my hubby is once more at work! I understand he has a lot of work to do so I am not complaining.. instead - I'm blogging!!

So this past week was an strange yet interesting one. It started off last Saturday morning on a high, when I got my new bicycle.. then went low..low..low with the hubby working all weekend long! Now, I am home all day long yet somehow I don't always get around to the things I plan to do. I think this has a lot to do with me 'dilly dallying' on a morning.. so by the time I get up, have my breakfast, tidy up.. it's already afternoon!

This week however I was able to do some interesting things online.. only because my hubby was working late so by the time afternoon came around, I had lots of time to dedicate to my online life. So let me quickly share what I've been up to this past week. I have to hurry because I am going to ride my bicycle with the two Ana's now!

Somehow I got it in my head, about two weeks ago, to try and earn money online. It all started when I discovered GoogleAdsense and everything spiraled from there. So in a nutshell, my online time was spent on the following sites this week:
1) Webanswers - I've written about my obsession with this site before so I won't bother to go into detail once more. You can check out some of the answers that I got awarded. People ask about so many things on this site, that the site becomes addictive. Clicking on the link will take you to the different answers but make sure and right click and put - open in a new tab or else you will leave my blog: Why webanswers?Remember a questionTongue on a frozen polePreferred Travel MethodLearning Something New and Favorite Quote. These are just a few of the many questions and answers out there!

2) Hubpages - Now this is a site I LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! I recently joined. You can check out my hubpages profile here. Okay so already I've written 3 hubs. Okay this is not many but I like to take my time and try and be creative. You can check out my hubs at: Digital Scrapbooking FreebiesPanasonic Lumix Cameras and Love for DS. Today I jotted down 13 different ideas for future hubs - some on places I've traveled to, some on Brazil, home stuff, recipes etc. If you have any ideas of hubs you'll like to see me write.. leave a comment and let me know! I've met nice people online at hubpages and wow.. there's so many great hubs to read that it can definitely keep you occupied.

3) Yousaytoo For all you bloggers out there, this is a good site to join. Here you can also earn money from GoogleAdsense as well as it promotes your blog. Any postings that you do on your blog, automatically shows up on your yousaytoo profile page. Also, I've made friends there and I like reading what other bloggers are writing.

So that's how I spent my time in cyber space! Believe me, all this reading and writing can be time consuming! And don't forget - I have my wifely duties to perform as well - you know what I mean - cooking, cleaning and washing :-)

Before you go, let me tell you about one last thing. I signed you to do a TESOL online course. This stands for Teaching English as Second or Other Language. I signed you and already completed my first assignment. You should have seen me, making notes like I was back in school. I have a cool notebook so I'm writing away. And then for the assignment.. well I tried my best. I have to send it to my online tutor for him to grade on Monday. Wish me luck! So when I am finished with the TESOL course I will get a certificate. This should help my chances at getting a job here in Brazil to teach English! I'm excited... well provided I pass the course of COURSE :-)

So this week I was very busy... but I'm missing my hubby plenty. I miss our afternoon walks and then our tv time! Anyways soon he'll be back to his regular schedule and then it's Rio Carnival 2010!

Gotta go change to go riding!
Have a wonderful weekend all.

Catholic School Joke

Good Morning Bloggers!!!
My blog is not about posting jokes but I got this other one this morning by email and I find it is too cute not to share. But don't worry.. I won't be posting jokes all the time. I promise :-)
Enjoy and hope it puts a smile on your face.. have a great day!

Until  a child tells you what they are thinking, we can't even begin to imagine how their mind is working....

Little Zachary was doing very badly in math. His parents had tried everything...tutors, mentors, Flash cards, special learning centers.  In short, everything they could think of to help his math.

Finally, in a last ditch effort, they took Zachary down and enrolled him in the local Catholic school. After the first day, little Zachary came home with a very serious look on his face. He didn't even kiss his mother hello. Instead, he went straight to his room and started studying.

Books and papers were spread out all over the room and little Zachary was hard at work. His mother was amazed. She called him down to dinner. To her shock, the minute he was done, he marched back to his room without a word, and in no time, he was back hitting the books as hard as before.

This went on for some time, day after day, while the mother tried to understand what made all the difference.

Finally, little Zachary brought home his report Card. He quietly laid it on the table, went up to his room and hit the books. With great trepidation, His Mom looked at it and to her great surprise, Little Zachary got an 'A' in math. She could no longer hold her curiosity.

She went to his room and said, 'Son, what was it? Was it the nuns?' Little  Zachary looked at her and shook his head, no..

'Well, then,' she replied, Was it the books, the discipline, the structure, the uniforms? WHAT WAS  IT?'

Little Zachary looked at her and  said and said, 'Well, on the first day of school when I saw that guy nailed to the PLUS sign, I knew they weren't fooling  around.'

Housewife Joke - Duties of Wives

I got this joke in my email and decided to share it .. .the three countries in the joke are Guyana - a country in South America but is considered part of the Caribbean and two islands in the Caribbean - Grenada and Trinidad and Tobago.

Enjoy.. hope it makes you smile! Trinis will find this funny!

Duties of wives..

Three men were sitting together bragging about how they had given their new wives duties.

Terry had married a woman from
Guyana and bragged that he had told his wife she needed to do all the dishes and housework. He said that it took a couple days but on the third day he came home to a clean house and the dishes were all washed and put away.

Jimmie had married a woman from
Grenada.  He bragged that he had given his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes, and the cooking. He told them that the first day he didn't see any results, but the next day it was better. By the third day, his house was clean, the dishes were done, and he had a huge dinner on the table.

The third man had married a
Trinidadian girl. He boasted that he told her that her duties were to keep the house cleaned, dishes washed, laundry and ironing twice a week, lawns mowed, windows cleaned and hot meals on the table for every meal. He said the first day he didn't see anything, the second day he didn't see anything, but by the third day most of the swelling had gone down and he could see a little out of his left eye.

Smile :-)
