Sorry! I'm busy! On vacation....

Hey guys,

I know it is terrible.. I haven't blogged about anything in a while. Well right now I am on vacation and I am spending my time visiting family and soon I'll start visiting my friends. Trish... thanks for following me on Twitter :-) I can't wait to see you and for us to catch up!

Well anyways so I am not at home all day now online ... I'm actually busy :-) Well not so much but my internet action is much much less than normal.. but don't worry .. soon I'll be here all the time again.. that's life!

Well folks, hope you guys have a wonderful week and maybe I'll stop by and share some of my life moments depending on if I do anything exciting :-) I did go to a wedding this weekend ... when I arrived - only had time to bathe and change and went straight to the reception where I made sure and had lots of champayne, cake and food :-) It was great!!! Since then things have been relatively calm ...

Take care,

I'm very sad

Whilst we were dating my husband (boyfriend at the time) went through several periods when we had to be apart, like when he was doing his masters or when he had to travel for work. These periods spanned from 7 months to sometimes two months or two weeks. We handled these periods apart pretty good. We made sure and spoke everyday even though sometimes it was really expensive. I know now there's Skype etc but sometimes we only get to talk on the go not when one was home at the available time etc.

Now we are going to be apart for an entire month and I am not dealing with this very well... actually neither is he... we are both sad right now because I leave tomorrow and he leaves the next day. I must say I am also not looking forward to that long a** flight as well as the four hour road trip to get to the airport. Yay me :-(

I guess maybe it's because now we are married and where we are it's really just the two of us and a few really great friends. But most of the time it's just us ... no family around and none of our friends from forever. Just the new ones we made since we moved here. Anyways so I guess since we've spent the last year alone together we've grown even more attached to each other which I know is a good thing for a married couple but now at times like this it's hard. I don't want to leave him ... I can't go with him ... ooh I hate this situation.

I don't like being sad. I'm a smiley, happy person.. sad doesn't look good on me! :-(

We'll let me get off here and go spend these last precious hours with my hubby (he's cooking whilst I'm blogging!). I like the Mickey & Minnie photo.

Love you hun.

Our One Year Wedding Anniversary!

Today, March 29th 2010, makes it one year since my husband and I got married and also this month makes it seven (7) years since we started dating. The past seven years have been really wonderful filled with love, lots of travelling, fun and laughter. Good times with friends and family!

Okay so back to our one year wedding anniversary. This weekend we went shopping and I got great presents. I started working on our wedding anniversary video on Friday and spent time on it over the weekend but I'm not finished. I will try and complete it today. These things take time especially when I want it to come out perfect but at this point I'll settle for great not fantabulous! To the left is the marrow that we got married under for our Indian wedding - Hindu rights. Isn't it gorgeous? I loved it! Picked out the materials myself but had a great bunch of guys working on it .. they did a great job! Well worth it.

I want to thank everyone who made our day special one year ago. A lot of work went into having a wedding by the beach on a coconut estate. Also present was a lot of rain but now I just look at it as God's Blessings... lots of blessings!

Okay the point of me writing this blog today is to celebrate our one year together not the wedding but I am looking at some of our wedding pictures and I am getting sidetracked.

We had a great honeymoon in Switzerland. It really is a beautiful place to visit and I loved relaxing up in the mountains. After one month of marriage we had to relocate to Brazil and the adventure began! Living alone I had to learn to cook – thank goodness my mother-in-law gave me a cookbook as a present. I had my good times... and not so good times when the meal was just barely edible but I have a great husband! I also had to learn to clean.. the worst part – I don’t like cleaning but living by the beach – SEABLAST which I’ve blogged about already – has me cleaning more times than I am guessing is normally necessary. I’ve got the cleaning and washing down as well. So the housewife duties are good to go. Over the past year we’ve made great friends here in Brazil who I am happy we had the opportunity to meet! We celebrated our birthdays here and I am happy we had people to share in our fun... we’ve also gotten darker in this sun. Had to mention that! We’ve had many beach trips and started exercising. I especially like the fact that we got bicycles and go riding together.

Now I know this is not my best blog post but right now I am distracted because I keep thinking about the video I want to finish so I guess I should go now - I'll just say thank you to my wonderful husband for all the hugs I get on a daily basis, for the good times and for the not so good times as well (like when you leave lot's of pepper spoons lying around on the kitchen counter!). Thank you for always making me laugh and forever trying to please me and make me happy. Thank you for the little adventures now and then and for being willing to try new things - like painting and riding bikes. For the many bus ride adventures which only people who have been on a bus in Brazil will understand! I could go on listing the many things I want to say thank you for but I'll just sum it up and say THANK YOU FOR THE LITTLE THINGS.. those are the things that count the most! Happy one year anniversary hun.

Love you.

It's Friday People!

I know all you hard working people out there are usually so excited about it being Friday because the weekend is right around the corner. So why is a person who's at home all week excited about it being Friday? Well let me tell you - I get my hubby home for the weekend and this weekend we are going shopping! Yippie! I tend to get so excited to go shopping for clothes - I have to get a dress to wear to a wedding - but when I get to the mall and start trying on a million things I usually lose all the excitement. To me trying on clothes in the mall is just a way of reminding me I'm just to fat! Most times I see parts of my body I didn't know existed .. like that little bit of extra belly/tummy here and there! Gosh help me!

If I ever find a bottle with a genie in it for sure that will be my first wish - to be the perfect size (whatever the heck that is) and to never be able to get fat again! Losing the weight is such a pain in the ass. And to all of you out there who keep telling me time to have babies.. did you ever think about if I get pregnant now how much bigger I will get and let's face it with my tract record of losing weight (-2 pounds ever so often) can you imagine after I give birth! My goodness! Oooh!

Anyways so tomorrow I'm going shopping and on Monday is our ONE YEAR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY! Yay we made it a year.. take that Britney Spears with your sexy body! Sadly after that we will be apart for a month but that's part of this life and I've learnt to make it work. So now I am going to spend some time working on our wedding anniversary video. I love doing these video things. I did one for my uncle to celebrate his life for his 70th Birthday and it came out really really good (Seriously!) but I spent more than one month editing it and tweaking it and making it perfect. Now I don't have that much time.. dammit why did I only think about doing this now.. 3 days before our anniversary? Good going Leandra!

Anyways let me get back to tidying up and then on to the good stuff. Have a great Friday people, don't drink too much today on your after work limes and have a wicked weekend!

Visit Copacabana Beach Brazil!

Thinking of visiting Brazil? Want to do the tourist stuff and see what's popular? Then you should definitely visit Copacabana Beach Brazil. The Copacabana area is so much more than just beach. The area is really beautiful and there is lots to see and do. Located in the south zone of Rio de Janeiro (also called the "Zona Sul"), Copacabana is a definite must see place.

Like I said, there's lots to see and do in Copacabana such as:

  • Take a stroll along the wavy pavement ("calçadão" ) with it's famous Portuguese pattern
  • Sun tan on the beach all day - if you can find a good spot and make sure to observe Brazilian life.
  • Walk along Avenida Atlantico (you will see lots of little beach bars and cariocas drinking beers and even dancing the samba!)
  • Go roller skating, jogging or ride a bicycle along Avenida Atlantico
  • You can take part in beach activities like play beach football or volleyball.
  • Why not have lunch in one of the restaurants under tents on the sidewalk or inside .. I prefer outside! So much to see! Like the beautiful women in their tiny bikinis
  • Shopping in the tourist markets - we got a lovely bowl here.
  • Make sure and check out the beautiful sand sculptures.
  • If you go for Old Year's Night you are in for a treat - there are millions of people there celebrating and enjoying a spectacular fireworks show!
Read more about it and see lovely photos of Copacabana, Brazil

Okay guys have a great day!

2010 FIFA World Cup

Hello World,

I am sorry I have not had the time to blog this week. I know you are probably saying to yourself, "What you mean you don't have time - you don't work!" Well you are wrong! This earning money online business is time consuming! Also I have my TESOL course and my last assignment was really hard - I'm serious! Today I've been reading things that I kept putting off for so long. Right now I am thinking of doing a movie with pictures of my husband and me and our friends, showing our relationship over the last 7 years as a token of our one year wedding anniversary in a few days. I'm still thinking about it and spent some time sorting through the millions of photos I have on my computer from 2003 to now but it takes time and I don't know if I should forget about it or spend the time and just do it. What do you think?

Anyways so last week a friend of mine shared a video on facebook of Akon's song "Oh Africa" and I ended up really liking it and listening to it all of Friday, then on the weekend and to be honest all this week as well. I like it - it's upbeat and makes you want to play football! The 2010 FIFA World Cup is going to be soon in South Africa from the 11th June to the 11th July. I remember when the Soca Warriors made it to the World Cup last time it was hosted. Boy our country was in a festive mood for the entire time even though we did not make it to far - ah heck at least we made it to the World Cup! We celebrated when the Soca Warriors (from Trinidad & Tobago) drew one of the matches. We reacted like we won the whole damn World Cup. Unfortunately T&T is not in the World Cup this year so I decided to back Brazil since I am living in the people's country! I know my husband will choose to back another team - for the competition! It's fun!

Well if you want to hear Akon's song and see Pepsi's cool ad for the upcoming 2010 World Cup you can check it out here. You will also see the video for K'naan song which is also cool! His own is used by Coca Cola! Go figure! They have their own little competition going on as usual.

Well folks, I hope you enjoy it and also I would love if someone sent me another song for me to obsess over so that I can get Akon out of my head. Before I go, let me share this - my younger brother found that the Pepsi ad was lame because he was expecting to see good football footwork / moves. Nevertheless I enjoyed it! Very creative!

K back to reading!
Have a great evening.

What do you call a man who is in his 40's and dates a woman in her twenties or younger?

Good Day Everybody,

How are you guys today, on this fine sunny Saturday morning? You may notice the title of this blog post "What do you call a man who is in his 40's and dates a woman in her twenties or younger?" Well this is a question I posted one day on webanswers just out of curiosity after I think watching Cougar Town with Courtney Cox on television. There is the term Cougar for women who do this - women in their 40's who date men 10 year younger or even more than that. So I was wondering, what do they call men? Lucky? :-)

I got responses like Sugar Daddy and Pedophile, and also that it is a social norm that's been around for so long that there's no tag for it, unlike "Cougar".

So you guys out there, is there such a term? If not, why don't we come up with one?

Well I'm off to go enjoy this fine Saturday morning.

Have a good day,

Leandraluv

A slow start today! Oh my gosh is that the time?

Hey folks,

What have you guys been up to today? For some reason I got up early this morning even though I really wanted to sleep in late. I always get up when my husband's alarm goes off for him to get up and get his butt to work. And then that's it for my sleep. On rare occasions (oh gosh too rare!) I actually fall back asleep but imagine that - I have the chance to sleep in late which many people would love to do but I can't / don't :-(

Yesterday I had an incrediable day but I am not ready to share the details yet - don't want to jinx what might happen in the future. Only my hubby, my friend Marcille and one of my Brazilian friends knows what I did yesterday but don't worry.. this is about Leandraluv ... Life's Moments so when I am ready to share the details I will - I promise.. I just don't want to jinx anything just yet.

Well I got a late start today. I always check my email when I get up and then I got a phone call from someone needing my help with some information and there one and a half hours later I was sending that information out and then I had to take in a little television and you know how it goes. There are many little distractions in life aren't there? Things that make us procrastinate.

I must say my obsession with webanswers, yousaytoo, hubpages, blogging, checking my adsense earnings and looking to see if I get new emails are very distracting! I need to maybe hide my computer and only check it at intervals. Yeah right! Who are we kidding. Oh please! That isn't going to happen! Some people are addicted to cigarettes and alcohol.. well this is my addiction - my computer and it's many distractions! See right now I am supposed to be attending to other tasks on my to do list and here I am updating my blog.

Well folks hope you guys have a great day and I would love to hear from you - so dammit leave a comment or email me or something! I need something else to distract me.. why don't you do it? :-)

Thank you for visiting my blog!

Some time ago I added a feature to my blog page - FeedJit and it shows me which countries my blog visitors are coming from on a daily basis. Now, I don't think that my blog gets a lot of site traffic and it definitely doesn't get visitors that click on the google ads so I am assuming that the people who visit my blog either come to check it out for the first time or for the regulars - they like to come and read what I am writing. This makes me very happy! I've give up on the idea of my blog being an earner for me with google adsense and even amazon (I've never gotten not even one click with amazon) but I've come to love blogging. I really do enjoy it and one day a friend told me he think's he has to go to rehab and I was like what? Why? What happened... and he said, "I'm addicted to your blog". Now that mean the world to me and I will continue to write on my blog even if it means I only have one person who keeps coming back to read what I am writing. Thank you for that.

Now I did a little something using the information from Feedjit and I the map that is generate and I used my scrapbooking/photo editing program to fix it up a bit, so that I can share with you. I am so happy to have people from all over the world visiting my blog. Today alone I had visitors from all over the United States, some from Trinidad and Tobago (thanks guys!), Brazil, United Kingdom, India, Australia, South Korea, Ireland, Pakistan, Barbados, France, Nigeria, New Zealand, the European Union and Bangladesh. Now this makes me so unbelievably happy. Even though it might just be one person from here and there - it means the world to me! And it's not like I am making money off of my blog - it's just an incredible feeling to know that people from all over the world are visiting for a moment. I consider that one of Life's Moments! So a heartfelt thank you is in order. Thank you all :-)

Look at the map!

I know it's a bit fuzzy but I hope you guys get the general idea. Okay so the map is small but what you can do is click on it and it will enlarge and you'd get to see all the flags and countries!

Have a great day! Oh and one other thing - I love to read comments so you can either comment on a posting or leave a comment on the box to the right! Scroll you'll see it!! I would love to hear from you guys :-) Please?

Isn't this world a wonderful place? And the internet - a powerful tool?

Tiger Woods to return to golf at Masters - CNN.com

Tiger Woods will be returning to Golf at Masters - so says CNN! Yippie!

Okay so sex has gotten a lot of people in trouble in the past. And then it happened to Tiger Woods! Oh no! Well guys I am happy to hear that Tiger will be returning to golf in April. Okay so he had affairs and what not. I am not condoning what he did, I just think it was none of my business and I found the public to be very judgmental. Okay, so Tiger did 'screw' up big time - no pun intended, but is it really any of our business to slander his reputation to the point that he quits his career? No!

He is a talented golf player and his personal screw ups (gosh I keep using that word!) should not prevent him from doing what he does best - no people.. not have sex but play Golf!!

Anyways golf superstar Tiger Woods, according to CNN will make his return to the sport in April at the Masters Tournament. This is after he was sidelined by the sordid sex scandal stuff. Tiger made this announcing of his eminent return to golf on Tuesday 16th March, 2010 - oh there I go again - that's today people!

I don't want to plagiarize CNN's article so go check it out yourself!

Have a great day people - no Screw ups k? :-)
