Billy Blanks - Fat Blasting Cardio

Christmas is around the corner and I have been trying to lose weight. I don't have my usual buddy to go walking with me so I had to look for an alternative... which ended up being an old dvd I had with Billy Blanks - Fat Blasting Cardio. It's a 45 minute workout which is really good... I am sweating like a pig and I did not even make it to the end .. I usually do it for 40 minutes and the last 5 minutes I sit on the couch and look at them finish up! Right now I just finished and have sweating just rolling down my face ... feels like I am outside in the rain.

Anyways so just wanted to say if any of you gals and guys too want to lose some weight ... try Billy Blanks... it's a fun workout but it's pretty old so I am sure you up-to-date guys have better workouts... this just happens to be one I enjoy and actually make the effort to do.

Okay shower time!

St. Jude - Patron Saint of those in need

Back in 2006 a friend in need was going through a very difficult time and needed help so I prayed to St. Jude for help and trust me, he works. I was raised Catholic but I am by no stretch of the imagination a good Catholic - and by that I don't mean my ways and behavior etc., I am referring to me not going to Church as often as I should etc. I do however pray regularly.

Recently again I had to turn to St. Jude and I thought since I have this blog I can share this prayer with you guys so if anyone is ever feels desperation or hopelessness in their life, they can turn to St. Jude. Or they can pray for a friend in need. The St. Jude Novena is a strong prayer that I sincerely believe works. You can find many prayers to St. Jude "prayers for special intentions" etc., online along with a host of information. I got a very good version of the prayer that I wanted to pray at St. Jude Novena Site and you can check it out for a host of information.

Okay so one version of the prayer that I particularly like is:

Oh glorious apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered thy beloved Master into the hands of His enemies has caused thee to be forgotten by many, but the Church honors and invokes thee universally as the patron of hopeless cases--of things despaired of. Pray for me who am so miserable; make use, I implore thee, of that particular privilege accorded thee of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, particularly (STATE YOUR PETITION HERE/YOUR NEEDS) and that I may bless God with thee and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise thee, O blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor thee as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to thee. Amen

For those of you who know the "Our Father", "Hail Mary" and "Glory be" prayers these can also be prayed after the St. Jude Novena.

This prayer is for when you have a serious need or feel really helpless. Don't go abusing it. And also part of how the prayer works is that you share the message of St. Jude by telling a friend, sending an email or whatever way you see fit.

I hope I was able to help someone out there.
Have a great Sunday guys!

Why Parents Drink!

Hello World,

Hope all is well with you guys. Recently a friend told me she misses my blog - Thanks for saying that MARY - even though I still find it hard to believe :-) You're too sweet. I realized that I should try and stick to this and even though I most likely won't write a blog post every day I am now determined to write something ever so often .. let's see how long that "determination" lasts!

Another friend of mine sent me an email yesterday - a forward with a joke - and I found it hilarious so I thought I'd share it with you guys .. put you in a good mood. If this was my kid I would want to beat him but you have to admire his ingenuity! Thanks for the joke Trisha B!

So guys enjoy!

Why Parents Drink
A father passing by his son's bedroom was astonished to see that his bed was nicely made and everything was picked up. Then he saw an
Envelope, propped up prominently on the pillow that was addressed to 'Dad.'
With the worst premonition he opened the envelope
with trembling hands and read the letter.

Dear Dad:
It is with great regret and sorrow that I'm writing you. I had to elope with my new girlfriend because I wanted to avoid a scene with Mom and you.
I have been finding real passion with Stacy and she is so nice.
But I knew you would not approve of her because of all her piercing, tattoos, tight motorcycle clothes and the fact that she is much older than I am. But it' s not only the passion...Dad she's pregnant.
Stacy said that we will be very happy.
She owns a trailer in the woods and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter. We share a dream of having many more children.
Stacy has opened my eyes to the fact that marijuana doesn't really hurt anyone.
We'll be growing it for ourselves and trading it with the other people that live nearby for cocaine and ecstasy.
In the meantime we will pray that science will find a cure for AIDS so
Stacy can get better. She deserves it.
Don't worry Dad. I'm 15 and I know how to take care of myself.
Someday I'm sure that we will be back to visit so that you can
get to know your grandchildren.
Love, Your Son John
PS. Dad, none of the above is true. I'm over at Tommy's house.
I Just wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than a Report card That's in my center desk drawer.
I love you.
Call me when it's safe to come home.

Wasn't it hilarious? Hahahaha! Poor dad!

Have a great day guys!

The Sky's the Limit

My last post was a couple of weeks ago and for that I once again apologize! I know soon you guys will be like damn this girl only posts on her blog now and then! Well I am really busy now .... I'm teaching now and I'm loving it! So when I come home I only have time to do some house work and then relax etc. I have not been on webanswers in ages and my google adsense earnings are starting to be affected. Even my facebook profile is suffering! Can't remember the last time I played that Family Feud game I was so addicted to and ask for Scrapbooking and uploading photos .... my, my, my! I did start working on a movie with pictures from the Houston Zoo and Sea Aquarium which I visited in July 2010 and well I love scrapbooking and making movies using Windows Movie Maker. I have a video on facebook that I worked on and got some great comments.

So tv series season is back! Yep that means I get to enjoy Dexter that awesome serial killer, Simon Baker in the Mentalist, White Collar (only because it's okay and I like Neal Caffery and Mozzie), How I Met Your Mother and my absolute favourite - Gossip Girl! It's on this season of gossip girl that I heard Jason's Derulo song "The Sky's the Limit" and liked it.... You can check it out below but I could not find a good video on youtube of it. But it's a cool song nonetheless. Anyways so I'm happy CHUCK BASS is back!! Can't wait to see episode 3 which I am getting at this moment cause in Brasil ....it doesn't play as the same time as the USA. So I'm late .. but no spoilers please people :-)

Well I hope all is well with the world. I saw recently that the Eiffel Tower had to be evacuated. Just in case you didn't know - I love Paris and I one day hope my husband gets sent there for work so I can live there! Anyways when I read that article on www.cnn.com I was like OH NO! What about those people who are visiting the Eiffel Tower for the first time and have to leave Paris the next day so that's there last chance...very unfair.. oh and also the fact that a bomb scare is a scary thing off course.

Okay so right now I am reading Harper Lee's "To Kill a Mockingbird" which I have my English class reading and so far it's going good but I think it's taking it's merry old time to talk about the trial etc. I know it's a classic book and you guys out there most likely read it so feel free to share your thoughts on the book with me. I also have my class watching the movie on it as well but only after they've read the book!

Well have a great day WORLD!

Heart of Gratitude

This is another email I got - so I don't have the source but I like the message and wanted to share it with you guys. Sorry for the copying and pasting but the message is a good one... I promise.
Heart of Gratitude!!!

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: "I am blind, please help." There were only a few coins in the hat.
A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.
Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, "Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?"

The man said, "I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way."

I wrote: "Today is a beautiful day but I cannot see it."

Both signs told people that the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people that they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

Moral of the Story: Be thankful for what you have.. Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and positively.

When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have 1000 reasons to smile Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear. Keep the faith and drop the fear.

The most beautiful thing is to see a person smiling… And even more beautiful is, knowing that you are the reason behind it!!! Enjoy your day with a heart of gratitude .

How long again?

I received this article in my email from a cousin of mine and thought I'd share it. Read it... very interesting and the headline kind of gives you hope but you will need to read to see what the real outcome is. It was a very interesting story and shows you how data is analyzed .... the different things that can be represented and not just one conclusion drawn. It's all about the "apples-to-apples" comparisons!

Are Young Women Earning More Than Their Boyfriends?

Yes, but only because they're better educated.

By Heather Boushey
Posted Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at 1:27 PM ET

Note - Sorry I don't have a link to the article so I just copied and pasted it from the email. It was written by Heather Boushey as noted above.

The news last week was that if you're a young woman without children, you have a shot at making more money than your boyfriend. "Young, single, childless women out-earn male counterparts," says USA Today; "Workplace Salaries: At Last, Women on Top" says Time.

I always enjoy it when the media rediscover a trend: Equality is here! But digging a bit deeper into the data tells a more nuanced tale. Even if you can make more than the cute guy you saw at the bar last weekend, you may not out-earn the colleague sitting in the next cubicle. And, alas, it's the second comparison that really matters.
There are two ways to look at the gender pay gap. The first way is to ask whether equally skilled men and women in comparable jobs are paid the same. That's the way to gauge workplace fairness. Do women with similar credentials in similar jobs earn as much as the men they work with? It's in this context that the answer remains no.

How do we know that? To understand workplace fairness, economists analyze how much of the overall gender pay gap—women still earn 78 cents on the $1 of what men earn—can be explained by the characteristics of workers and the jobs they hold and how much cannot be explained by anything except the person's gender. In other words, they compare workers of the same educational attainment holding the same kinds of jobs—male college-educated electrical engineers and female college-educated electrical engineers. The American Association of University Women tackled the pay gap question this way and found that for college-educated women, the gap emerges as soon as they graduate. Their research shows that a woman earns 5 percent less the first year out of school than a man who goes to the same college, gets the same grades, has the same major, takes the same kind of job with similar workplace flexibility perks, and has the same personal characteristics, such as marital status, race, and number of children. Ten years later, even if she keeps working on par with the men around her—that is, continues to have the same level of on-the-job experience—the AAUW found that she'll earn 12 percent less.

The new headlines claiming that women outearn men come from Reach Advisors, a marketing research firm, which did not publicly release the numbers behind its claim. But from the media reports, it's clear that the analysis compared the median earnings of women and men aged 22 to 30 working full-time who do not have children and who live in the largest cities in the United States. Reach Advisors did not address whether the men and women in the sample had similar skills or experience, or held the same kinds of jobs. They asked: If you're a young, childless woman, do you earn as much as a young, childless man? With the question framed this way, the answer was yes. In fact, Time reports, Reach Advisors found that "in 147 out of 150 of the biggest cities in the U.S., the median full-time salaries of young women are 8% higher than those of the guys in their peer group."

But young women are earning more than young men because young women are acquiring more skills than the men are. Good for them. But this doesn't mean that they're being treated the same way in the workplace. When you do the apples-to-apples comparison that the AAUW did, young women still earn less than comparably skilled men. What has changed is that there are more women with higher levels of education. Among women aged 22 to 30, a third (34 percent) have some college education and a third (35 percent) have a college degree or more. Among men in that age group, less than a third (30 percent) spent some time in college, and just over a quarter (28 percent) have a college degree. If one group (women) has more workers with more education, then they should outearn the other group. That's what the Reach Advisors study shows—that because there are more young women with college degrees, women now outearn young men.

Which brings us back to that cute guy at the bar. He is less likely than the woman sitting next to him to have been to or completed college. So yes, now we know that if he lives in a big city, he probably earns less than she does. Though Reach Advisors looked only at young workers without kids, down the line, the findings may have implications for how families use their time or for shifting the balance of power within the home. When mothers outearn fathers, it may make more sense for the dads to take off work to pick up a sick child. And higher-earning moms may have more say over household decisions than lower-earning ones.

At the same time, research has shown that discrimination against mothers remains widespread. And let's not forget that the fact that better-educated young women outearn less-educated young men doesn't mean that we've achieved workplace or gender equity. Until women with exactly the same skills and qualifications match their male peers in earnings, there's plenty of work left for all of us.

New "Job"

Everyone kept saying... so how are you enjoying Brasil? What do you do all day? Are you going to work over there? Why don't you look for a job? .... and also stuff like "It's good to get out of the house" "It will keep you occupied" etc. Mind you I was perfectly happy at home doing my own thing, only venturing out into the sun when I wanted to and I was happy like pappy. But needless to say I decided to get off my ass and find something that might be a bit more constructive than my usual daily activities that I grew to love. So I found something and well things over here tend to take a while to organize and get going so after a few months (which I did not mind) I finally started my new "job" on Wednesday.

So I think I would enjoy my new responsibilities even though I am a bit nervous about it. And based on the last two days - when I go home I am absolutely tired ... so no more time for my internet activities that I enjoy so much - webanswers, hubpages and even my horrible attempts at blogging. I guess once I get accustomed I can start back doing bit by bit....by for the last two days - first day I went home with a headache....something to do with noisy kids and then the next day I reached home after 8pm! Hard worker right? :-)

So today I'm heading home normal time, hopefully minus the headache, but I have lots to do this weekend including all the housework I've ignored this week and cleaning out the fridge, taking the time to cook a decent meal and oh yeah planning lessons for the upcoming week of 'work'. So there you go blog readers out there - I've definitely found something to fill my time!! :-( Let's hope I enjoy it - so far so good! Okay so enough with the questions that I mentioned above cause if anyone asks me anything like that again I'm going to have a mouthful of things to say :-) So BEWARE!!!!

Have a great weekend guys.

Finally I'm finished TESOL

Okay so you know that course I've blogged about several times already - the one I'm doing with ITTT - the TESOL course.. well I just submitted the final unit - Unit 20. Gosh seems like a long time that I started this course but thank goodness I finished with two days to the deadline! Yay me! Now I get a free course as part of the package but I am not feeling to start on that one just yet. Tomorrow is a holiday in Brazil but I have a very long early morning trip to the airport to do .... then I'll relax and exciting news - I start a new job on Wednesday. I really am terrible at this blogging thing so I am not sure anyone even reads my posts anymore :-( A good blog to follow though guys is The Frugal Buzz   - that one is full of great advice and is updated regularly and written by a pretty great gal!

Okay so I'm off to go catch up on some television and wait to hear back from my tutor saying hopefully that I passed and the certificate will be in the mail :-)

Have a great Monday.

Elephant Parade London 2010 Elephant Petition Animation

Help Protect the Asian Elephants and their Habitats

Sometime in June I wrote a hub on hubpages about the ELEPHANT PARADE IN LONDON  and asked you guys who read the hub to please sign the petition. Well I got an email today thanking me for signing the petition but there's still more that can be done. I am copying and pasting the email that I received from the Elephant Family (info@elephantfamily.org). Please find the time to go and sign the petition. It really only takes less than one minute and you'd be doing a really good thing for these endangered Asian elephants.

Elephant Family logo

AUGUST 2010

Dear Leandra

You’ve no doubt heard by now, what a jumbo success Elephant Parade London was – over £4million raised, and over 13,000 signatures added to our petition. We want to thank you so much for adding yours!

While the hearts and minds of the public have been captivated by Elephant Parade London we wanted to follow up our success with a short animated video as a thanks and call for further support. Although the elephants have disappeared from London, we still need help to make sure they don’t disappear from Asia.

You can help us again. Watch our video here.
Elephant Family Petition Video
We urgently need a minimum of 100,000 people to sign the petition by Christmas time. How can you help? Share the video on facebook and twitter, and forward this email to your family, friends and colleagues. The more signatures we get the more Elephant Family can do. We'll be able to deliver the petition to 10 Downing Street and demand a debate in the House of Commons. And as you'll see in the video, that's just the beginning.

Massive population growth and the escalating destruction of habitat is forcing the Asian elephant into ever decreasing pockets of land. Unable to roam free, they are coming into daily conflict with humans, with suffering on both sides. They are simply running out of space and time. Only government intervention and the protection of habitat can save them now.

Thank you for your support.
Yours sincerely,
Dan Bucknell,
Head of Conservation and Campaigns

Okay so as you can see their goal is 100,000 signatures by Christmas time. Please head on over and sign the petition. Just click HERE for the petition.

Okay so I hope you head on over and do this. Thanks so much.

Anyone else addicted to Facebook Family Feud?

When facebook first started with all the games - like Farmville and build your garden and I'm seeing Frontierville etc I ignored it all.. stayed far away from them. I thought they were all a waste of time and well really not every interesting. Maybe I was too judgement... especially since I did not bother to even try any of them... until I saw Family Feud. Oh gosh. I curse the day I started playing that. Now I am addicted to it .. oh wait before I go into that I have to admit I started of being addicted to the facebook texas holdem poker game. That's where it started and for months I played poker on facebook. I love playing cards and poker is one of those games I enjoy tremendously. Then that fizzled out and I eventually just forgot all about it.

Now I'm on to Family Feud. I know, just like facebook poker, this too is just a passing phase but gosh - I think it's taking to long to past as far as I am concerned. It's time consuming. I should be spending this time writing a hub for hubpages or answering questions on webanswers, earning my online money with google adsense instead of playing silly Family Feud but I can't help it. Now I am at a stage where I bought all the prizes I could for a particular stage and the remaining prizes have to be won for me to advance to a next level where I get to earn more free episodes. Mind you, I won't ever get so addicted or desperate that I will pay for any of the episodes. Just so you know. Anyways so I am patiently (not so patient actually) waiting to win this last Greek God prize so that I can redeem my close to 100,000 points (yay me!) for prizes in level three.

Just thought I'd share that with you guys. So is there anyone else out there that's addicted to this facebook application? Damn facebook!

Have a good night folks.

Leading Questions

Again, I'm sorry I am so bad at this blogging. I just emailed an assignment to my tutor for that TESOL course I keep rambling about. It's been a while since I worked on an assignment and I got an extension. True Trini style I am late with completing the course but I blame it on the travelling I do :-) I mean when I go home to visit I can't be expected to spend time doing assignments... not when there are family and friends to hang out with and delicious food to be eaten... yup doubles, curry duck, dhal and rice, macaroni and yummy Chinese food!

Okay so now I am back to boring Brasil so I have time to spend doing my assignments. You know it takes a while to get started but once I do I will get back into the swing of things. Plus I am dying to start working on a video with lots of animals from when I visited the Houston Zoo and the Sea Aquarium in June/July! I already have songs to use in the video and I'll get to do some scrapbooking.

So the title of this blog post is leading questions. I am not sure if that is the correct term but I am referring to questions that the "asker" knows the answer to but the response is one that might hurt his/her feelings and yet they ask it anyways. What kind of thing is that? I observed this happening over the last few months but I never got down to writing about it.
Let me see if I can give some examples. "I am getting the feeling you don't want to go, do you mind going?" What do you say to that. No I don't want to go and yes I mind? Yeah right! Uuum oh gosh I had really good examples before but now I can't seem to remember them.

Anyways I will update this blog post if it is I remember some more. So folks out there, I don't think this type of questioning is fair and I think that you should keep in mind when asking people questions whether 1) You really want the honest to God truth (so as not to put the person in a situation where he/she has to lie) and 2) If you know the answer already ... stop wasting precious time asking silly questions! Just let it go and move on!

Okay so there you go. I am sure I have confused many of you and I am being kind of cryptic but it's best to write this way and avoid trouble later :-)

I'm back!

I'm bad at this blogging!

I know it's been a while since my last blog post but I've been busy and taking a little break from my online stuff. I spent a wonderful weekend doing things my husband and I love including going to the Zoo. So now I am working on a video with the pictures as well as doing a little scrapbooking. I am also trying to complete as many TESOL assignments as I can because I am going to be very, very busy from this afternoon so I might not get time to do much blogging until next week.

A friend of mine - Tricia - asked me to do a blog posting on marriages and causes of divorces. Trish, I am sorry I haven't gotten around to this as yet. I'll try. I promise. I will have to do research first seeing that I don't really have experience in that field.

Well have a great week guys. I plan to shop and take lots of photos :-)

Digital Cameras 2010

Oh I am so confused! I need to get a new camera and I am not sure which camera is the best one on the market - there are so many. I am looking for a digital camera with around a 12x zoom or more, 10 mega pixels or more, takes great photos (okay so that's up to me as well) but I want one that get's good scenery photos as well as people shots. I love Panasonic Lumix cameras but this morning I saw an ad on television for the Olympus Pen something camera and OMG it looks great but it can cost around 599US ... more than my budget covers.... and it might be just a little too bulky.. I'm not sure.

Oh well.. if any of you out there have any recommendations - I'm open to suggestions!!! Please?

Oh and Victoria Secret SEMI ANNUAL SALE starts tomorrow! Woo Hoo!

Have a great week.

Sucky Mood

So today was eventful, well on television at least - the first two 2010 FIFA World Cup matches - both ending with the sides drawing 1-1 and 0-0 so not soo exciting but I'm happy for the teams nonetheless. Then why am I in a sucky mood? I think I am feeling a little closed in today. Usually I am fine! I do my assignments, I watch television, I check my email a million times, answer questions on webanswers, check my google adsense earnings every ten minutes and I even changed the template on my blog today. So it's not like I don't have stuff to keep me occupied... but I think today I was just restless. I should have spent the day in the mall... sightseeing :-) I think I'll do that next week.. instead of just hanging out in the hotel room all day. I know I have my assignments (which I am regretting now) but I think I need to just get out for a little bit. Tomorrow I am going out with a friend and my hubby too so that's good.

Have a great weekend and hope you guys enjoy all the football action!

Outsmart a Woman??

I got this in an email - don't know the source but wanted to share this 'JOKE' to put a smile on your face for today. Enjoy!

Outsmart a woman????......Are you kidding.....?

A man calls home to his wife and says, "Honey, I have been asked to fly to Canada with my boss and several of his friends for fishing. We'll be gone for a long weekend. This is a good opportunity for me to get that promotion I've been wanting so could you please pack enough clothes for a 3 day weekend.
And also would you get out my rod and tackle box from the attic? We're leaving at 4:30 PM from the office and I will swing by the house to pick my things up..

'Oh! And please pack my new navy blue silk pyjamas.'

The wife thinks this sounds a bit odd, but, being the good wife, she does exactly what her husband asked.

Following the long weekend, he came home a little tired, but, otherwise, looking good. The wife welcomes him home and asks if he caught many fish?  He says, 'Yes! Lots of Walleyes, some Bass, and a few Pike.

He said, 'But why didn't you pack my new blue silk pyjamas like I asked you to do?'

You'll love the answer..
The wife replies, "I did. They're in your tackle box."
Never, Never, Never try to outsmart a woman!!!

Inspirational People

Do you meet any inspirational people in your lives? A friend of mine is presently living thousands of miles away from home (just like I am) but she's lucky to meet so many different people in her life that I think are very uplifting and inspirational. You know the ones that have life experience, are older than we are and have so much to teach you. I am envious that she is able to meet such people but I also think it has a lot to do with her attitude towards life. I wonder if some of us meet people like that on a regular basis but might not realize that we are coming into contact with people who definitely can make an impression on our lives, just because of our attitude towards the world.

I think that my friend is able to embrace the life experiences that are presently coming her way because she is simply open to them. Being open minded and embracing of what life passes your way - she's able to learn from others, make certain changes in her life and is now living her life in a way that is totally satisfying, fun loving and is in a way food for her soul. I do hope that she continues to see the good in life and is able to learn life lessons that you won't find on youtube or facebook but from real live people who've lived it.

I meet young people on a regular basis and that's great but I would not mind meeting people who can have such an impact on me that I too can have a better outlook on life, learn more and absorb the good vibes. When I was in University I considered one of my lecturers to be sort of like a mentor to me - and I learnt a lot from her. Growing up I always had my uncle to teach me the simple and important lessons in life and for that I am eternally grateful. I do hope that where ever my journey continues in life that I too can also meet people who will have such an impact.

I know we can sometimes get busy and caught up in our daily lives but I do hope that some, if not all of you out there, take the time to listen to your elders, you know - the same old people that you might not bother to make time for because common .... what can an oldie tell me that would make a difference - PLENTY!

On webanswers I've seen questions where people want to know why old people are so annoying or why their grandparents are this and that and it's sad to know that people out there don't appreciate what others have gone through, what they can teach you and the stories that can go untold!

This was just a thought that ran through my mind since this morning when I received an email from my friend telling me about someone who in my mind had a positive and great impact on her, just from him telling her about his life experiences, the importance of family and his ability to make a life altering decision that is mind blowing! Thanks for the email my friend :-) Keep 'em coming.

Well good night to you all. Hope you had a wonderful weekend and good luck this week - make it a nice one and if you happen to encounter an older and wise person - take the opportunity to sit and talk with them .. you might be surprised what you can learn from just one conversation.

Nightie night.

Elephant Parade in London

I just published another hub on hubpages have many months of not hubbing. This hub is about the Elephant Parade in London which is a very cool event aimed at raising awareness to help protect the Asian Elephants who are facing extinction due to habitat destruction. Go take a read at http://hubpages.com/hub/Elephant-Parade-in-London and at the end of it you can also sign the petition to help Governments to take action and save this amazing creatures. This will only take less than three minutes of your time and you'd be doing something really good for the environment! As humans we are already destroying so much of nature such as what is happening right now with the major BP oil spill. So while they are working on solving this crisis and trying to save the many animals, you can do your part and sign a petition to help the charity group who are working hard to save the Asian elephants - "The Elephant Family". I really like what I read about their work.

Okay I'll shut up now and let you head on over and read the hub at http://hubpages.com/hub/Elephant-Parade-in-London. Enjoy!

Gabrielle Anwar - Burn Notice

Thought I'd add this as well for you male fans of Burn Notice out there - it's Fiona Glenanne played by Gabrielle Anwar. She's hot! She looks all fashionista on the show but she's a force to be reckoned with. She's the 'shoot first, ask questions later' type of gal and she has a dangerous but enticing nature. What I mean is she looks plain sexy in everything that she does on the show. I just wish Michael would come to his senses and marry her!

Enjoy the pictures of her. I got them from USA's website

Oh and here's a bonus pic from this website

Again - ENJOY FOLKS!

Burn Notice - Sexy Man Michael Westen

Yes I wrote about "does sex sell" and well I know it does. On yousaytoo that blog post got rated a 10 so far (well the rating can go up as long as people click on 'rate it' - so I don't mean 10/10). Anyways all my other recent postings did not get any 'rating' clicks but that posting did. Anyways so now I had a hard time thinking of who to put as my SEXY MAN posting today so I decided to go with Michael Westen from Burn Notice.

I am a fan of the USA network serious - Burn Notice and tonight is Season 4 premiere so Michael's face as been on the USA channel all day today. He is sexy too bad and so is his co-star Fiona! I love the sexual chemistry between the two of them and I love the episodes when they kick ass together, kiss and have a little romp here and there! See.. I'm sold with the sex.. Gosh!

That show has a nice cast though - not only Michael and Fioni but Sam and Michael's mom Madeline. Okay so the real name of these stars in consecutive order are Jeffrey Donovan, Gabrielle Anwar, Bruce Campbell and Sharon Gless. But today we are focussing on the sexy man himself - Jeffrey Donovan.

So check out the photos which I got from http://www.usanetwork.com/series/burnnotice/

Check out the site for more information and don't miss the Season premiere tonight! Okay now for the photos!

As you can see... the man rocks a suit and sun glasses!

ENJOY!

Does SEX sell?

I came across an interesting question on webanswers today that was asking "Does Sex Sell" and my response was Yes it does. Now the people responding had a very nice discussion about it and the truth of it all is that the people making money online and elsewhere today - make a lot from sites associated with sexual or sexy content. Blogs with pictures of sexy men and women do much better than uuum let's say - this blog!

So we were having a nice chat about maybe we should all change the content of our blogs and start focusing on the stuff that sells - SEX content! But well I know I was only kidding - I am too scared to do that. I am sure google will have a problem (or maybe they might not) - who knows? Anyways so since this blog does not make money - let's face it guys - none of you ever bought anything from Amazon from seeing it advertising on this blog or even looked at something Google was trying to sell. Now the ads that are displayed by google are based on the site content.. so without sexual content - no sex related ads. Get it? Then that means not as much revenue as the blogs with just pictures and no site content or articles etc. Anyways since right now I am concentrating on my course work assignments and not paying attention to hubpages, webanswers and my blogging I decided to try and put up a little something Sexy to kick things off.. and want's sexy right now? Kim Kardashian of course! I absolutely love her - she's gorgeous. Oh to have a body and face like that! Damn but that girl is overly blessed.
Anyways so enjoy this video from youtube. I decided to go with Kim because since I'm in the USA at the moment I'm catching up on some of the episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Now for you ladies out there.. tomorrow I'll feature a sexy man of my choice (still undecided).

Enjoy

Nothing to Blog About

Okay guys

So right now my head is spinning. I am trying to pump out as many TESOL assignments as I can and on top of that the tv is really distracting me. I'm in a hotel right now and I'm enjoying it - the cleaning service, the food and the television :-) Oh and the fast internet which has me most distracted as well. Our internet connection in Brazil is soo slow that sometimes I feel it might be faster for me to send a letter in the post!

Well I am not sure what to blog about these days but if you guys will like to hear about something particular or want me to write about something let me know and I'll see to it.

World Cup is fast approaching so that's another set of distractions!!

Have a great day!

Trinidad & Tobago's new Prime Minister!

Okay so it's late and time for me to go to bed but I will just like to say CONGRATULATIONS to Trinidad and Tobago's new Prime Minister the Honourable Kamla Persad-Bissessar! First woman Prime Minister. Change has begun! Congrats! Now I can sleep in peace. Tomorrow the country can begin healing and getting back on track!

BBC News - Voting under way in Trinidad and Tobago snap election

BBC News - Voting under way in Trinidad and Tobago snap election:

"Trinidad and Tobago is one of the wealthiest countries in the Caribbean, thanks to its large reserves of oil and gas."

Voting is presently taking place in sweet T&T.

Let's hope everyone goes out and exercise their right to vote and VOTE for change!

I think that if you are able to vote you should get yourself registered and go vote, that
way you are entitled to a say afterwards. It's so disgusting when people complain and complain
about a situation and then when they are allowed the opportunity to make changes they sit
back and do nothing!

Let's see what the results will be tonight.

How to dance in the rain!

Okay so I'm working on assignment six and stopped to check my email and I got a lovely forward from a cousin which I decided to share. It's a very heartwarming tale and I think it will help to bring a smile to your face or at least a tug to your heart. It reminded me a little bit of the Notebook actually.

It was a busy morning, about  8:30, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He said he was in a hurry as he had an  appointment at  9:00 am. I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would to able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound.

While taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had another doctor's appointment this morning. He said no, he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife.
I inquired as to her health. He told me she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease. As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late. He replied she no longer knew who he was, she had not recognized him in five years now.

I was surprised, and asked him, 'And you still go every morning, even though she
doesn't know who you are?' He smiled as he patted my hand and said,
'She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is.'

I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arm, and thought, 'That is the kind of love I want in my life.' True love is neither physical, nor romantic.

True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.

The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything they have.

'Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain.’

I hope this warmed your heart. The picture you are seeing to the side is one that my best friend shared with me this morning... so it's copyrighted to her :-) Isn't it absolutely beautiful? Has a calming effect doesn't it?
